Maybe I'm the only one, but I think Hochzeitsnacht im Paradies is the single finest accomplishment of twentieth-century European culture. It's saved me again and again and again.

"I despise Salinger's writing and all it represents. The whiney brat as American ideal. Hate Holden. Hate Franny (that poor Yalie stuck having dinner with her; if he's lucky, she never comes back from the bathroom). All the narcissism and empty elitism. Really, really despise it all, and don't begin to understand its resonance with most readers." [1]

Yeah, that. If your book is so transgressive and challenging of hypocrisy, then why is it that every other child in the United States is forced to read it, and how is it that it's been totally embraced by that society's educational culture?

Although I've had this forever (along with G.S. I Love You and some other oddities siphoned from the same post), I only recently listened to it, and it does rock quite hard! There are no clips on YouTube, only some "Danish prog rock" and a "National Socialist Black Metal Polish Scene Band" of the same name.
